Elizabeth Bike Depot

Do you need secure, covered, weatherproof storage for your bike while you are at work?

Do you wish you could commute to the train station by bike and have a safe place to store it?

The City of Elizabeth’s Bike Depot is for you!

Sign up for a membership to the Elizabeth Bike Depot, conveniently located on the first floor of the Midtown Parking Garage, 30 West Grand Street, adjacent to the Elizabeth NJTransit Train Station. The Elizabeth Bike Depot will provide you with safe, secure, covered storage of your bike. The Depot is accessible to members only.  Anyone who commutes from the Elizabeth Station, lives in Elizabeth or nearby communities or shops and visits the City of Elizabeth by bike is invited to purchase a membership and store their bike at the Elizabeth Bike Depot.

The Elizabeth Bike Depot also has a bike repair station inside that you are welcome to use once you become a member.

Various memberships are available on a first-come, first-served basis. NJBWC reserves the right to increase rental rates on an annual basis.

Monthly membership begins a week after joining; a key fob will be sent to you through the mail. Membership will renew each month on the date you joined unless you cancel, at which time it will end at the end of the current cycle; to cancel, please send a note to info@njbwc.org.

Universal membership – $30/month. Sign up here.

Access to all of the Bike Depots in the NJBWC program. The Bay Street Station Depot in Montclair and the Bloomfield Bike Depot are open. Additional depots are planned for other towns in New Jersey. Purchase a Universal membership and you will have access to all of the NJBWC depots, according to the rules for each depot.

Once you join, we will send you a key fob that will allow you entrance to the depot. You may choose any one of the available racks to place your bike. Please lock your bike to the rack. Please do not leave your lock on a rack after you remove your bike; other members may be using the rack when you leave with your bike.

The Bike Depot is monitored via video recording. However, NJBWC is not responsible for loss or theft of your bike. Videos may be reviewed.

The Elizabeth Bike Depot is a collaboration between the New Jersey Bike & Walk Coalition, a 501(c)(3) public charity, and the Parking Authority of the City of Elizabeth. The depot is being managed and maintained by the NJBWC. All proceeds above expenses are used by the NJBWC to further their mission of making streets safer for all users in the state.
