NEW Safe Passing Law Bumper Stickers & Print Materials

Donate to Keith Bull Memorial Fund

The Keith Bull Memorial Fund (KBMF) was created in memory of Keith Bull, a dedicated cyclist, riding for recreation and utility for 40 years. Tragically, he died from injuries sustained in a traffic crash in March 2022. He was a fixture in the local cycling community and a welcoming and encouraging presence on group rides. Keith’s friends, relatives, and fellow cyclists have contributed to this fund, organized by his family to create some measure of positive change from a profound loss.

Funds are used to raise awareness of the New Jersey Safe Passing Law. Using funds from KBMF we have created and are distributing copies of the bumper sticker above to individuals, organizations, bike shops, etc. throughout the state.

Please help us sustain and expand these promotional efforts with your own contribution to the Keith Bull Memorial Fund.

Pedestrian & Bicycle Information Center Crash Video Series - Driver Passing a Bicyclist

This video demonstrates various potential crash scenarios that occur when a driver passes a bicyclist (or other vulnerable road user) too closely, either striking the person or causing the person to lose control or balance. The video also presents safe behaviors that can be used to help prevent a crash with a vulnerable road user.

New Jersey Safe Routes Resource Center – How to Safely Pass a Person Riding a Bicycle

People who ride bicycles, scooters, use wheelchairs or electric devices, and pedestrians (if there is no sidewalk) have a legal right to use the road. This short video provides guidelines on how to safely pass a bicyclist (and other vulnerable road users) sharing the road.
