Thank you for help to spread the word about New Jersey’s Safe Passing Law! Below, we’ve provided a social media toolkit with sample posts and graphics to share with your networks on social media. This content can be shared on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

Please be sure to tag NJBWC in your posts so we can reshare and promote. Depending on which platform you’re posting to, you can use the handle @NJBikeWalkCoalition (Facebook) or @NJBikeWalk (Twitter/Instagram).

New  Safe Passing Law Social Media Toolkit 
In addition to the social media toolkit we launched in 2022 this new toolkit uses bold graphics created for a NJ Transit Bus wrap campaign.
 

In addition to directly sharing these social media posts, you can create your own social media posts.

Below are suggested captions and images you can use on social media.

  • On mobile: tap and hold on the photo to save it to your photo gallery, then upload into your social media application.
  • On desktop: right click and save the image to your desktop, then upload into your social media application.
  • Then, on mobile or desktop: copy and paste the text content into your social media post.

Create Your Own Social Posts

This summer we held the SafePass4NJ Challenge to challenge advocates to create their own campaign photo or video to help spread the word about the Safe Passing Law.

See example posts and winners of the Challenge below!

You can continue to create content on social media with your own unique style. 

Photos/videos can include:

  • a demonstration on how to follow the NJSPL
  • an explanation of the details of the NJSPL
  • reasons why you think it is important to follow the NJSPL
  • a highlight of an NJSPL event
  • anything you think will help to spread the word and be effective in encouraging people to follow the law

When posting, using the hashtag #SafePass4NJ and tag NJBWC. Depending on which platform you’re posting to, you can use the handle @NJBikeWalkCoalition (Facebook) or @NJBikeWalk (Twitter/Instagram).
